Uganda is in East Africa, on the shores of Lake Victoria. It is a young country that gained independence 63 years ago. We have a population of 50 million people, with half of them being under 20 years old.

The Catholic Church is still relatively young. It has been 146 years since the first missionaries, Pere Mapeera and Brother Amansi, arrived in Uganda. Catholics constitute 40% of the population.

These factors present both a challenge and an opportunity: the chance for growth and the challenge of shaping the future of the growing Church and Nation that is still largely poor.

The need is great, but we cannot do everything. We believe that Faith and Education can bring about the desired changes, and through the Grace of God, form souls rooted in Christ and care for the physical needs of those in need.
